The Port Colborne & Wainfleet Chamber Of Commerce is a voluntary organization of business people from both
or our municipalities. Our focus is to promote the interests of business and, in so doing, strengthen the overall
well being of our combined community.
Our organization was founded in 1902 and incorporated in 1930 under the Board of Trades Act.
The members annually elect a Board of Directors in accordance with the Constitution and By Laws of the Chamber.
Monthly meetings are held by the Board at which various committees report on their activities.
Reports are also presented by the representatives of both municipalities.
The Chamber of Commerce can and does affect your business in several ways. For instance, the office receives enquiries daily about the availability of products and services in our area, and we refer these people to the relevant business within our membership. The Chamber also provides regular opportunities for networking with leaders in business and local government.
From time to time, various levels of government require input from the business communities, regarding proposed business legislation. The Chamber provides this input, based on feedback from its members. The Chamber of Commerce is recognized by government as the voice of the business community.
Our group is similar to other voluntary organizations, we are only as strong and as active as our membership.
We encourage YOU to become involved by attending the monthly meetings and perhaps working on a committee in your area of expertise or interest. In this way, YOU will provide input to events which can impact on YOUR business.
